Gypsy, is an award winning Designer hailing from Australia, boasts a prolific 25-year career across an array of creative realms, spanning feature films, TV series, commercials, short films, theatre, and animation.
Among her recent endeavors, Gypsy has contributed to notable projects such MAX’s OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH starring Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi, NETFLIX’s WELLMANIA featuring Celeste Barber, and Amazon’s THE WHEEL OF TIME led by Rosamund Pike.
Gypsy’s collaborative ventures have brought her together with esteemed Directors including James Cameron, Ridley Scott, Russell Crowe, Peter Jackson, Baz Luhrmann, Jennifer Kent, Rafe Judkins, Uta Briesewitz, Andy Tennant, Alex Proyas & and David Jenkins.
A highlight of Gypsy’s career was Costume Designing a Na’vi Shaman for Walt Disney’s PANDORA – THE WORLD OF AVATAR in partnership with Walt Disney Imagineering and James Cameron’s LEI Lightstorm company. The Shaman performs for the world to see at Walt Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
After earning her Bachelor of Design from NIDA in 1994, Gypsy embarked on her journey by working as Costume Design Assistant and Illustrator under Catherine Martin’s guidance. Their collaboration extended to projects like Baz Luhrmann’s AUSTRALIA, ALEXANDER THE GREAT, and CHANEL NO.5, and Catherine Martin’s homewares range.
Gypsy’s accolades include 4 nominations, including an APDG nomination for best Costume Design on POKER FACE, and a Streamy Award win for Costume Design on OSCAR’S HOTEL FOR FANTASTICAL CREATURES.
Over time, Gypsy has been sought after as an educator, lending her expertise to institutions such as NIDA, CMU Pittsburgh, and AFTRS.
A proud member of IATSE Local 892 and APDG, Gypsy currently resides in Los Angeles, where her creative journey continues to unfold.
It is Gypsy’s life long dream that her original costume designs will be seen on Halloween party go-ers.
