Ben Young is an award winning writer/director.
His feature debut HOUNDS OF LOVE starred Emma Booth, Ashleigh Cummins and Stephen Curry. It had its world premiere at the 2016 Venice Film Festival, and received 9 2016 AACTA Award nominations including Best Film, Best Direction and Best Actress for Emma Booth’s performance.
Ben’s second film EXTINCTION premiered on Netflix in 2018, starring Michael Peña and Lizzy Caplan, produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman for Good Universe.
Ben’s most recent feature film, DEVILS PEAK starring Billy Bob Thornton, Robin Wright and Hopper Penn, Films had theatrical release in the US in 2023.
For television, Ben’s directing credits include eps 5 & 6 of Netflix’s first Australian produced production, CLICKBAIT and episode 8 of THE WILDS: 2 for Amazon, POPULATION 11 for Jungle Entertainment and STAN, and the second season of THE TWELVE for Warner Bros Australia, Easy Tiger and Binge, SILVER for Easy Tiger and STAN and set up director on THE ARTFUL DODGER S2 for Disney+ and Curio Pictures.
Ben’s latest project RUN a 6 x 1 hour drama series for Warner Bros International Television and Binge is based on the Australian bank robber Brenden Abbott, featuring George Mason as Abbott. Ben services as lead director, episodes 1,2,5 & 6 and executive producer.
