Alicia is a Sydney-based production designer for film and television.
Having studied live-performance design at WAAPA, Alicia enjoyed a successful and award-winning career as a set and costume designer for stage, working with many of Australia’s major theatre companies. She was the recipient of the 2014 Kristian Fredrikson Scholarship for Design in the Performing Arts and a selection of her designs now belong to permanent collections at Beleura House and the Arts Centre Melbourne.
After designing several short films, Alicia was invited to the 2019 BERLINALE TALENTS which recognizes the top emerging film artists from around the globe. In 2020, the dramatic web-series THE TAILINGS, for SBS, provided Alicia her first production design opportunity for television. The series, directed by Stevie Cruz-Martin and produced by Liz Doran and 2 Jons, was shot on location in Tasmania and won the 2021 AACTA Award for Best Short Form Drama.
Reuniting with director Stevie Cruz-Martin, Alicia production designed SAFE HOME, a 4 x 1 hour drama series from creator Anna Barnes, also for SBS. Starring Aisha Dee, SAFE HOME was produced by Imogen Banks’ Kindling Pictures and Banijay Entertainment. Most recently, Alicia collaborated with Stevie Cruz-Martin for the third time on season two of the AACTA and Logie award-winning series, THE TWELVE, for FOXTEL/Binge. Filmed on location in Western Australia, the series is produced by Easy Tiger and Warner Bros Australia.
In 2022, Alicia also production designed the period comedy/drama series WHILE THE MEN ARE AWAY for Arcadia and SBS. Set in 1942, the 8-part series was overseen by showrunner Kim Wilson and director Elissa Down.
Previous production design credits include the ABC children’s series BORN TO SPY from creator Justine Flynn and produced by Aquarius Films; along with Associate Production Designer under Virgina Mesiti on AFTER THE VERDICT for Subtext Pictures and Channel 9.
