Anya writes for film and television.
She created and wrote the 8 part mini-series FAKE, inspired from the novel by Stephanie Wood, starring Asher Keddie and David Wenham, which broke all streaming and subscription records for Paramount+. The series sold to ITV UK and was nominated for a 2025 Logie award for best mini-series, six AACTA awards, including best series and screenplay. Anya wrote episode 4 of APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, the global top ten Netflix smash hit and 2025 Astra TV Best Miniseries or Telemovie Award created by Samantha Strauss, starring Kaitlyn Dever for See-Saw Films.
Anya’s other TV credits include several high-profile TV series including THE TWELVE S2 starring Sam Neill, the AACTA and AWGIE Award-winning series FIRES for ABC and NBC International; EDEN for Stan with Bryan Elsey (SKINS), THE BLACK HAND presented by Anthony La Paglia for ABC and PLAYING GRACIE DARLING for Paramount+ .
Anya’s UK/AUS co-production short film IT’S ME was commissioned by producer Lee Magiday (THE LOBSTER, THE FAVOURITE) starring Maxine Peake and Russell Tovey and premiered at the Manchester Film Festival in 2020.
Anya has won three Australian Writer’s Guild (AWGIE) Awards: FAKE won best limited series in 2024; FIRES won best series in 2023, and PARADISE in 2014. She was one of four inaugural winners of the Lexus Short Film Fellowship at Sydney Film Festival for HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN (2017).
Her original feature script SERPENTINE was a semi-finalist in the Academy Nicholl Fellowships (Oscars 2016), was shortlisted for the Sundance Labs and Austin Film Fest and was featured on the inaugural “Aussie” Black List in 2018.
Anya has series in development with Paramount+, Disney+, Netflix AU and See-Saw Films.
