Jessica is an actor, writer and director from Naarm (Melbourne), with an extensive background in premium film & TV production working across titles such as TOGETHER (NEON), ALL HER FAULT (Peacock) and most recently as Assistant to Jonathan Levine on Skydance’s MR. IRRELEVANT. Driven by character and an acute sense of empathy, Jessica’s work centres around themes that pertain to relationships and loss, with a focus on young, modern life in a domestic Australian setting. Her filmography is often a distinctive exploration of personal experiences framed in a universal context, that challenge her audiences to acknowledge the emotional complexities of everyday life.
Jessica’s most recent short film PUNCTUM premiered at Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) where she was one of 14 selected filmmakers to take part in the prestigious Accelerator Lab program. The film then went on to screen at SXSW Sydney, ReelGood Film Festival and St Kilda Film Festival. Jessica’s sophomore film GOOD GRIEF was a semi-finalist at the Cannes Indie Shorts Awards, a Judge’s Select film at London Lift-Off Festival, and screened as part of the New Voices in Australian Cinema program at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in February 2025. Her writing and directorial debut BREAKING UP won Best Short Film at Sydney Web Fest in 2021 and was an Official Selection to be housed on NoBudge.
Jessica is currently in development with her Screen Australia supported series GOOD GRIEF, with producers Scarlett Koehne and Jessica Smith of Pikelet Pictures, and EPs Minkie Spiro (3-BODY-PROBLEM, SKINS, DOWNTON ABBEY) and Amanda Higgs (THE SECRET LIFE OF US, TIME OF OUR LIVES).
