SNOWTOWN opens in London to good reviews

Justin Kurzel directed feature film Snowtown was released in the UK on November 18 with Revolver Entertainment.

Here is what the critics have said so far:

Nigel Floyd from Time Out UK -

One has to go back a long way, to Rowan Woods’s ‘The Boys’ (1998) or John McNaughton’s ‘Henry: Portrait of A Serial Killer’ (1986), to find a crime drama as intense, disturbing and unresolved as Australian director Justin Kurzel’s film.

Kim Newman from Empire -

Terrific performances, especially from the menacing, lazily charismatic Henshall, and debut director Kurzel’s expressionist storytelling make for an Aussie film well worth hunting down. A tough but seriously rewarding watch.

Mark Adams from Mirror UK -

Snowtown is one of the best films to have come out of Australia in years.

Jez Sands from On the Box -

Snowtown is a tense, gripping and brutal film, with fantastic performances across the board, commanding cinematography and powerful direction. It’s not pleasant or casual viewing but it’s certainly one of the best films to come out of Australia in recent years, one of the highlights of The London Film Festival and one of the most intense films of the year.
